Sofía, our music teacher, has a degree in Music with an emphasis in Artistic and Cultural Education: Music, from the Universidad de Antioquia, located in the country of Colombia. At only 23 years old, she has had important achievements in the musical field. She is the winner of several regional contests such as the Regional University Song Festival in the unpublished song category with the song “Recuerdos”. She was the winner of the “University moves through Latin America” Scholarship to carry out an academic exchange at the Universidad de Sao Paulo Brasil, where she had the opportunity to acquire musical knowledge of the region.

She also obtained an economic stimulus granted by the cultural project “Tejiendo Redes” of the University of Antioquia, to make the professional video clip “La luna te dice que” by “Rayna”, her stage name. She was the winner of the “Juntos Creamos 2021” award in the record project category, together with Sebastián García Yepes for creating an EP of five original songs.

Rayna is a recognized singer-songwriter in her region. She has published three original songs to date with a professional video clip, which can be found on her YouTube channel: Rayna música, on Instagram: @raynamusica and on other music platforms.
Sofía, better known as Rayna, has also been on television programs in the region such as Acuario Television and Teleantioquia.

Sofía began her musical studies at the age of 6, in a musical initiation project with sol-fa and music theory. At the age of 8, she joined the Rionegro Children’s Symphonic Band playing the clarinet. At the age of 11 she decided to focus as a soloist, taking piano and vocal technique classes. At the age of 14, she began her classical guitar studies at the Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid, where she prepared to enter university. At the age of 17, she began working as a music teacher at the Escuela de Música Pentagrama , teaching people of all ages in personalized piano and vocal technique classes. At the age of 20, she began working with the government, at the Rionegro Culture Undersecretary, with groups of more than 15 people in the areas of vocal technique and guitar.

Sofia is an experienced multi-instrumentalist. She plays the guitar, the piano, the ukulele, the saxophone, the bass, the quena, and her main instrument: the voice. She is not limited to composing in only one musical style. In her songs you can appreciate a mixture of Latin and world genres, taking references from the great singer-songwriters and the music with which he connects.

Sofia has six years of experience as a music teacher and more than ten years of musical career. She has important pedagogical tools to carry out her classes and she likes to be updated on social networks and technological tools to enter the world of the music industry. She is deeply interested in the student’s musical development and focusses extensively on theory, technique, practice, composition, and performance.
