What’s covered in our Chess Classes?
Accel Learning Chess Classes are offered to students of all ages and skill level.
During the class, students learn the techniques and strategies of playing chess by playing against each other, against the teacher and also get printed game plays for practice at home.
There are 3 skills levels. Depending on the student’s ability and skill, they would be placed at the appropriate level.
Basic level – This is where students new to chess would start. Here they learn the basics of chess, rules and techniques to play. Once they gain a level of expertise, the students move to the next level
Intermediate level – Students already familiar with chess and have demonstrated a certain level of skill get to this level. In this level, the students hone their skills with exercises, competing with advanced level students and practicing at home with exercises provided by us.
Advanced level level – Students who have consistently shown wins against advanced students enter this level. Advanced students get a chance to represent us at Chess competitions at state, national and even global levels.
Our class sizes are kept at a minimum to allow for personalized attention.

Accel Learning offers Chess Classes for kids 6 years and above.
Classes are offered both in-person as well as online.
All classes are for 60 minutes each in a small group of 4-5 students.
No Registration fees and no Contract. Pay as you go. Only $150/month (4 weeks). All inclusive fees for one hour of class each week.

With hundreds of hours of teaching and playing at National level experience under his belt, Dharsha (Dash) is an expert in teaching Chess to young minds. Along with teaching Chess, Dharsha also playes chess at a professonal level – which is very helpful for his students who also want to play at a professional level..

Hi, my name is Dharsha (Coach Dash). I have a BSc. Physical Science degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. I’ve been playing chess since childhood. I have gained tons of experience playing Chess representing my School and College at the National level.
Teaching chess is my absolute passion. Playing Chess was very helpful for my studies as it increases focus and calculations. My students do make use of these extra benefits of chess in their studies too.
I teach students of all age groups and skill levels in a unique way using a structured curriculum. I also help them participate in tournaments and gain real experience. My ultimate goal is to produce a set of fantastic, confident chess players in the world!
