Introduction

AP Physics C: Mechanics is a calculus-based, college-level physics course that provides students with a deep understanding of fundamental physics concepts related to motion, forces, and energy. It covers topics like kinematics, Newton’s laws, work and energy, momentum, rotation, and gravitation. The course aims to prepare students for college-level physics courses, particularly those in physical science or engineering.

While the actual AP Physics C: Mechanics exam consists of multiple-choice and free-response questions, this course only has the Multiple-choice questions for practice.

AP Physics C: Mechanics Exam Summary

Who can take the test?Any high school student who student who has completed a calculus-based, college-level physics course. The recommended prerequisites for these exams include either having taken calculus or being concurrently enrolled in a calculus course.
When is the test conducted?AP Exams are administered in schools over two weeks in May
What is the Format of the test?The AP Physics C exam consist of two sections: a multiple-choice section (Section 1) and a free-response section (Section 2). Section 1 includes 40 multiple-choice questions, and Section 2 includes 4 free-response questions. Each section is worth 50% of the total exam score.
What is the medium of the test?The AP Physics C exam is a hybrid digital exam. Students will take the multiple-choice portion and view the free-response questions on the College Board’s Bluebook testing app, but they will handwrite their free-response answers in paper booklets, which are then submitted for scoring.
